The holiday season has always been about families coming together and Google is marking the occasion with a special series of doodles celebrating December global festivities.

Monday’s interactive doodle — a sequence of three images marking December global festivities — features a cute pair of penguins making plans to travel to warmer climes to visit their toucan and parrot relatives.

“The festive season is here,” Google announced alongside the doodle, “and this pair of slippery-footed siblings are excited to spend time with their warm-weather relatives.”

The first image shows a penguin on the phone to a toucan. The second shows two excited penguins packing their suitcases inside an igloo, with a calendar showing the day’s date in the background.

The third image shows three presents, with the numbers 18, 25, 31 and 1 on them. The present with 18 — Monday’s date — is open. That suggests more doodles can be expected on Christmas day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day.

“Stay tuned over the next couple of weeks to see what kind of fun this feathery family has in store,” Google said.
