This Personal Submarine Excursion Takes You Through a Biosphere Reserve in the Maldives
Believe it or not, visiting the Maldives is about to get even cooler. Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru has announced it will be the first place to offer personal submarine excursions with the DeepFlight’s Super Falcon 3S, a three-seater personal submarine that can take up two guests (along with a professional pilot) on the adventure of a lifetime.
Each passenger can sit back and relax as they skim over coral formations and zip through schools of tropical fish surrounded by a personal dome that virtually disappears, “providing a 360-degree view of the underwater world,” according to the resort. Guests can encounter sea creatures including turtles, sharks, dolphins and rays, and explore the Maldivian waters at depths of 120 feet.
And while you’re enjoying these natural wonders, you’ll be doing so in an environmentally friendly, battery-operated submersible. The submarine never lands on the seabed or reefs.
It's an incredible way to explore the Maldives’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Landaa Giraavaru’s Baa Atoll.
“These submarine excursions redefine marine exploration and bridge the gap between the world we see above the waves and the one that exists below,” Regional Vice President Armando Kraenzlin said in a statement.
Of course, this experience doesn't come cheap. The personal submarine excursion for up to two passengers can be booked for $1,500.
