UPDATE May 2, 2019, 12:07 p.m. PT: Reservations for entry to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge between May 31 and June 23 have sold out. To visit Star Wars Land before June 23, guests should book a room at one of Disneyland Resort hotels. Hotel guests with reservations at Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Resort and Spa, or Disney’s Paradise Pier hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019 will automatically receive one free reservation per guest. (Valid Disneyland admission is also required.) For information on how to visit the new Star Wars land at Disneyland after June 24, see below.

You’ll need more than just a Disneyland ticket to get into Star Wars land when it opens this summer.

Reservations will be required to see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during its first few weeks, and Thursday, May 2, is the first time excited fans will have a chance to book their time slot.

How to Book a 4-hour Reservation for Star Wars Land

Ticket holders hoping to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge from opening day through June 23 can make a free reservation starting at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) on May 2 on Disneyland’s website. Valid theme park admission and a Disney Account are required; it is recommended to sign up for one in advance of the 10 a.m. reservation system opening. It is likely that the available slots will fill up very quickly, so you should be at your computer, signed up and ready to go, right when reservations open.

Guests at Disneyland Resort’s three hotels are guaranteed entry into the Star Wars-themed land, and will be given one reservation per person, regardless of length of stay, from May 31 until June 23, 2019. However, rooms are booking up quickly around the opening.

For the first month all day guests will need a valid reservation to enter Star Wars Land. No FastPasses will be available, and without both Disneyland park admission and a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge entry time reservation obtained in advance, guests will not be allowed inside the land.

Hopeful Jedis won’t be able to spend the entire day within Star Wars land, though, at least at the beginning. Galaxy’s Edge reservations in May and June are for four-hour windows.

How to Visit Star Wars Land Without a Reservation

Starting June 24, reservations will no longer be required to enter the land — but Disneyland visitors shouldn’t plan to waltz right into the lightsaber shop or grab a space cocktail at the cantina. In lieu of a lengthy standby line winding around the park, Disneyland will be introducing a virtual queue that will give ticket holders “boarding passes” to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. According to Theme Park Insider, the system appears to work like Fastpass but for the entire land, allowing guests to enjoy their time within the park or other Disneyland attractions, and head to Galaxy’s Edge when it’s their turn. (USA Today reports boarding passes for Star Wars Land be booked through an app, but Disneyland Resort has told us that is not confirmed.)

More information about this virtual queue is yet to come, but once you’re inside Galaxy’s Edge, you’re completely free to roam. There will be no Fastpasses offered when Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run opens this summer and when “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” opens later this year, allowing guests to explore the shops, restaurants and both attractions as they wish. To offer relief within lengthy queues, Disneyland will also utilize a “bathroom pass” for any guests needing to step away.

Further news announcements will appear on the and Disney Parks Blog on May 2 prior to the opening, so stay tuned for additional details.
