If you’re stuck at home due to quarantine measures, you might be struggling to pass the extra downtime you have that used to be taken up going out to a restaurant, commuting, and in some cases, working.

People have turned to board games, puzzles, and even learning new skills to pass the time — but those things may not offer much of a social life. Luckily, you can still meet new friends and pass the time in other ways.

For instance, people in an apartment in Hortaleza, Spain, which is under strict quarantine during the coronavirus outbreak, have decided to play bingo from their balconies as a clever way to be social and even meet their neighbors, Insider reported.

According to Insider, about one-third of the world’s population is under quarantine in order to combat the virus — especially in Spain, Italy, and the U.S.

Twitter user Cristina Pruenza posted a video of her apartment building playing a massive game of bingo from their windows. In the video, it seems Pruenza is shouting out numbers for people to fill out their bingo cards. Pruenza is a graduate student at Madrid's Instituto de Empresa, who lives in the building with her husband and came up with the idea of bingo to help bring the community together.

From the sounds of people shouting out their windows in response, it seems like balcony bingo is a big hit.

Balcony bingo isn’t the only way residents are keeping busy and staying connected. Elsewhere, people are offering fitness sessions and DJ-hosted dance parties as a way to stay upbeat while social distancing.
