Drop What You're Doing and Buy a $199 Flight to Costa Rica (Video)
This might be the most affordable way to buy a little pura vida.
Nothing beats the post-vacation blues quite like booking a super-cheap flight to a dream destination.
Last week, the Airfare Spot reported $352 round-trip flights to Liberia, Costa Rica from New York City. And yesterday, flight to this accessible Central American nation plummeted from cities all over the country.
Scott’s Cheap Flights reported that tickets to San Jose, Costa Rica can be purchased for as cheap as $199 round-trip from Fort Lauderdale. Flights departing from Miami and Orlando are also steeply discounted, with seats starting at $204 and $223, respectively. And you don’t need to be based in Florida to take advantage of this sale.
Flights to Costa Rica from Boston, Houston, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Washington, D.C., and even San Diego can all be booked for less than $300.
Travelers should use Google Flights’ low-fare calendar to find the most affordable flights from their home airport, though typically, the most inexpensive tickets will be found between March and May.
Because Costa Rica isn’t as affordable as it used to be, budget-conscious visitors should consider seeking pura vida by relaxing in public hot springs, taking hikes through the nation’s leafy interior, and admiring Costa Rica’s resident sloths.
