Listen up, New Yorkers and Bostonians: Bermuda is partnering with Costco to make it easier for you to escape winter.

The island destination is teaming up with the warehouse retailer to offer mail-in coronavirus testing in compliance with local travel restrictions. Vacationers don’t have to be Costco members to participate, officials said

The PCR saliva tests cost just under $140, including lab fees. They’re available through Costco’s online pharmacy, and are being rolled out to 100 brick-and-mortar stores, starting with locations in New York and Boston.

When purchasing a collection kit online through Costco’s pharmacy, travelers will receive a code to register and complete a health questionnaire. The kit will then be shipped overnight via UPS. Travelers can collect their own specimens with guidance over video chat, or head to a participating Costco pharmacy.

The company promises to return results within 12 to 48 hours and adhere to Bermuda’s public health regulations.

Bermuda currently requires all visitors 10 years old and over to complete a pre-travel COVID-19 test no more than five days before their departure. Visitors must register with public health officials, take another COVID-19 test upon arrival, and quarantine until those results become available.

Visitors are also mandated to check their temperatures twice each day, reporting results to an online portal, and to take additional COVID-19 tests on days four, eight, and 14 of their trip. The government says it will book COVID-19 tests on behalf of visitors and provide email reminders.

Bermuda reopened to tourists in July. So far, it has reported more than 553 cases of COVID-19 and nine deaths.
