Alta Strada
Owned and operated by chef Michael Schlow, Alta Strada is the more casual sister restaurant to his formal downtown eatery, Via Matta. Schlow envisioned Alta Strada as a relaxed neighborhood gathering spot, an atmosphere that is achieved through the restaurant’s exposed brick, simple wooden furniture, and bustling open kitchen. The cuisine is a slightly upscale take on classic Italian fare, including pasta dishes like mushroom-filled lune with truffle oil and Parmigiano and entrées such as roasted chicken with oven-dried tomatoes, zucchini, and black olives. The all-Italian wine list is well priced and purposefully approachable.
