The National Museum of the American Indian explores the native cultures of the Western Hemisphere, from the Algonquians of the Chesapeake to the Incan empire of Peru to the Eskimo peoples of the Pacific. It also examines relations between the U.S. government and American Indian nations. Be sure to sample some native food at the lauded Mitsitam Cafe.
