Gam Gam
Overlooking the Cannaregio Canal on the edge of the Ghetto, and run by the local rabbi for the past two decades, this wonderful kosher restaurant is a blend of Jewish and Venetian, both in cuisine and décor. Fish figures heavily—everything from sarde in saor to gefilte fish—and there's a strong vegetarian selection (think platters of aubergine presented in four ways). Unusually for Venice, it's open all day; plus, it's a superb value.
