Located in a hipster Venice neighborhood, Flake’s entrance is marked with a wood surfboard propped against the wall. Customers at the small place can sit at an outdoor table or indoors, with light wood and green banquette seating and white walls trimmed in orange. The blackboard menu hung behind the counter lists breakfast fare like egg sandwiches, organic coffee, and a blended acai bowl with vegan hemp granola. The main draw, though, is cereal: customers select from a couple of dozen varieties and add toppings, from fruit to candy. Lunch is also served, with salads and wraps the focus of the menu.
