Vancouver, the largest metropolitan area in Western Canada, is a city unlike any other. Located by the water, surrounded by forests and mountains, Vancouver travel is a nature-lovers paradise. The city is also a bustling urban center and is widely considered to be Canada’s culinary and cultural capital. From four-star seafood restaurants, to a lively Asian dining scene, to farm-to-table establishments, travel to Vancouver to sample the world of delicious eating options.
Things Not to Miss in Vancouver
• Exploring Stanley Park, a 1,000-plus acre public park that borders the city’s downtown
• Watching the orca show at the Vancouver Aquarium
• Shopping in Gastown, Vancouver’s historic district
• Eating at Granville Island Public Market, which boasts an array of vendors selling cheeses, pasta, produce, meats and a wide selection of made-to-order dishes
When to Go to Vancouver
While Vancouver has the mildest climate of any city in Canada, winters can be incredibly rainy and gray. It's best to visit Vancouver in the summer, when the days are long, and the weather is beautiful. Unlike June, July and August in Eastern Canadian cities such as Montreal and Toronto, Vancouver summers are not muggy and humid. They are crisp and clear with temperatures typically hovering in the high-70s to low-80s making it a magical time of year to visit the city.
