Known for its tranquil setting, Maya Tulum Retreat and Resort has 45 private cabanas that are all within 50 meters of the beach; some open up right onto it. Accommodations are simple, with traditional Yucatan touches such as thatched roofs and white-washed stone walls. Beds are decorated with silky, mosquito-protecting drapes that hang from the high ceiling. The resort has seven massage rooms and 4,500 square feet of yoga space, where instructors schooled in Anahata, Ashtanga, and Hatha hold daily classes. A variety of spa treatments are available, including massage, body wraps and scrubs, and facials.
