Lumière, West Newton
Housed in a former ice cream parlor, Lumière is a celebrated French restaurant serving innovative dishes from chef Michael Leviton. Renovated by well-known designer Sandra Fairbank, the interior has an upscale vibe with off-white walls, red and gold upholstered banquettes, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Incorporating sustainable ingredients from local producers like Verrill Farm and Kimball Fruit Farm, chef Leviton creates such dishes as striped bass with butternut squash, chanterelle mushrooms, caramelized onion and hazelnut, and Marsala vinaigrette. The chef’s tasting menu is also popular here, as are made-to-order desserts like the apple crisp with sour cream ice cream.
