Swedes love their beer and wine. In the summertime, the city seems to run on rosé, ideally enjoyed at an outdoor café-bar beside the water. The locals tend to stay home during the week and hit the city on Friday and Saturday nights. That said, there’s always a crowd drinking at city-center restaurants such as Riche and Sturehof, especially as local offices close. A glass of French wine at Gaston in the Old Town is always a delight. Despite the high taxes on spirits, the city’s cocktail scene is thriving, with wonderful drinks being shaken and stirred at Marie Laveau and the bar at Teatergrillen.
