The Newport Room
Bermuda’s first AAA Five-Diamond restaurant, the Newport Room is an upscale French restaurant housed in the Fairmont Southampton hotel. The interior is designed to resemble a luxury yacht, with mahogany paneling, brass accents, and white-clothed tables set with crystal and bone china. In the center of the dining room are miniature replicas of sailboats that won the Newport Bermuda Race, a biennial yacht race from Newport, Rhode Island to Bermuda. Incorporating local ingredients, the seasonal menu may include seared foie gras with sweet potato fondant, and halibut Provençal with tomato, fennel, garlic, and sage ragoût.
