El Rinconcillo
Established in 1670, Spain’s oldest bar charms patrons with its barely changed interiors. Run by the De Rueda family since the 1850’s, the scene is a locals-only hodge-podge of sturdy wood counters and iron cast medieval chandeliers. The barrel-shaped tapas tables are surrounded by canary yellow walls covered with vintage memorabilia and trimmed with elaborate tiles. Order a bottle from a nice selection of regional wines, try the tapas (the chickpeas and spinach mash-up is delicious), and stick around for the throwback feel.
