Seattle Great Wheel
The giant Ferris wheel on Seattle's waterfront is a fairly new addition to the skyline—but a hard one to miss. It's located on the end of a pier that juts into Elliott Bay, so once on board, it feels like each rotation might just dip into the water. But this is no thrill ride, even on the glass-bottomed VIP gondola that includes leather seats and a chance to skip the sometimes-lengthy line. Go at sunset for the most picturesque view across Puget Sound and back on the dimming cityscape, and watch as the nighttime lights go on—green and blue when the Seahawks are playing, naturally.
