Pike Place Market
Pike Place Market is the city's most famous place to shop, fronted by a fish stall where fishmongers toss each other salmon and halibut over the heads of their patrons. The indoor and outdoor stalls host fruits and vegetables, fresh-made donuts, local crafts, and famously cheap bouquets of flowers. Restaurants dot the buildings that face the market, should all those fresh ingredients for sale make you too hungry to head home and cook them up. The market is closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, and most stalls are up and running when the bell rings at 9am. Be ready for crowds during the summer.
