Ethan Stowell—one of Seattle's most famous restaurateurs—could've gone crazy with the menu for his Four Seasons-set eatery; but went with simple tavern fare (think: local mussels and king crab pasta). Large windows open to grand Elliott Bay views, though it's so bright at sunset that window shades are often necessary. Executive chef Joe Ritchie ably takes the fresh-and-local reins from the creator. Warped glass pendant lights above and mini tin buckets of fries, served along with the fan-favorite burger, are just a couple of the informal touches that balance the grand setting of the Goldfinch.
