Mansion on Forsyth Park
This dramatic red-brick and terra-cotta 19th-century structure is a near-perfect example of the Southern Gothic architecture that Savannah is famous for. A former funeral home, the Mansion on Forsyth Park is now one of the city’s most luxurious hotels, with its own art gallery, featuring pieces for sale, and a full spa. The 125 rooms have Baroque interiors, huge white headboards, and crushed-velvet upholstery. The hotel is full of whimsical details as well, from the vintage hat collection to the outdoor swimming pool with twisted marble pillars.
