Miró
Spanish surrealist painter Joan Miró inspired this upscale, dinner-only restaurant at northern Santa Barbara’s ritzy Bacara Resort. Chef de cuisine David Garwacki interprets the cuisine of Miró’s Catalan homeland through a California prism. The prized seats are outdoors, which offers views of the Pacific Ocean and, in cooler months, heaters. Representative dishes include red fallow deer Chateaubriand, and butter-poached Maine lobster with veal sweetbreads, but many diners opt for the five-course prix fixe menu. Miró also houses a wine cellar that's 1,200 labels deep.
