Ricky Barthley and his wife relocated their funky, decades-old restaurant from Manzanillo to the hilly suburb of San José, but the duo continue to turn out local favorites. Popular dishes include rondón soup (which gets its name from the patois pronunciation of “run-down”), and rice and beans made with coconut milk. Large groups often show up here to watch soccer matches and to celebrate birthdays, which can make it difficult to score a table.
