568 Hayes St., San Francisco, CA 94102, United States

Located in Hayes Valley, this home furnishings store has a red-framed screen door and colorful mosaic entryway leading into an equally vibrant interior. Here, owner Russell Pritchard showcases primitive country furniture collected from small towns as well as an eclectic variety of contemporary pieces. Pritchard’s motto is “always repair, never restore,” resulting in high-quality furniture that still has peeling paint, worn edges, and original markings. The ever-changing inventory may include 1930’s metal porch gliders, iron beds, pie safes, and late 19th-century hutches. Modern pieces include sofas and chairs built by a family shop and artwork made from reclaimed materials.
