Seoul on Wheels
Each day, Julia Yoon tweets the location of her Korean grill on wheels—though this roving restaurant is often somewhere in the SoMa (South of Market) neighborhood. While the food truck’s location changes, the menu of barbecued meats and other Korean dishes remains steady. To make bulgogi, the national dish of Korea, the chef slices rib-eye steak into strips, marinates the meat in apple juice, and then char-grills it. The fusion-style spicy pork Korrito is a burrito-style wrap, while the more traditional kimchi-fried rice gets its flavor from the tangy, Korean fermented dish, which is made from vegetables, chili peppers, and seasonings.
