Kraum
An artists’ collective that receives support from a government grant, Kraum (which means "simmering" in Icelandic) showcases the creative output of various designers from across the country. Once housed in the oldest structure in Reykjavik, the current showroom is in the basement of a sportswear store along the city’s main commercial drag. Don’t let the unassuming entrance deter you from stopping by to check out the shop's scarves, wallets, fluffy stools, and kitchen goods. The employees are also a good resource should you want to learn more about visiting local artists' studios around the capital and the rest of Iceland.
