Charlevoix Rail Transit
From Quebec City to La Malbaie, the Charlevoix Rail Transit winds through 125 kilometers of countryside charm, stopping in seven towns and picturesque coastal villages. What started as a freight railway in the 19th century has now become a well-known tourist favorite. Run on a vintage diesel engine, there's an air of old-world glamour to the journey. With tracks that are hugged by trees and rocks, every glance out the window is a treat. On board, guests are met by waiters in white button-down shirts serving local wines and cheese. The interiors are elegant with welcoming green and cream leather furnishings, and music and entertainment is supplied at every turn with the onboard iPods that tell you what you're looking at outside.
