POD
Though Dublin’s better known for its pub culture than its nightclubs, this converted train station has been packing in crowds since the early 1990s. A recent revamp has seen the venue divided into three zones: the POD nightclub attracts a young crowd for midweek student nights and Bodytonic’s long-running Pogo party on Saturdays. Upstairs, Tripod is a medium-size venue that hosts established international acts (the Tragically Hip, Pavement), while the pint-size Crawdaddy venue stages a blend of indie hopefuls and rising local acts.
