Kevin Ludwig’s spirited restaurant and bar in Southeast Portland’s glass-fronted 720 BLDG has earned a reputation for its cocktail program since opening in 2009. The cocktail list changes seasonally, but typically includes citrusy cocktails and stirred drinks made with base spirits like gin, rye, and amaro. Ingredients like tonic water, grapefruit soda, and Pinot Noir grenadine are made in-house. Executive chef Ben Bettinger oversees a seasonal menu that might include grilled Oregon sardines with golden beets, asparagus, grilled lemon, and aioli or pork tails and trotters with summer vegetable succotash. Bar seating, booths, and bistro tables are all available.
