Frick Art and Historical Center
The Frick Art and Historical Center is more than just a museum. It houses collections of artwork spanning Italian renaissance paintings, Chinese porcelain works, and French decorative arts. It also has collections of antique photography, costumes, cars, and carriages. If antiques intrigue you, check out Clayton House, which sits at the other end of the property. This is where the family of Pittsburgh industrialist Henry Clay Frick lived and the rooms themselves are time capsules of 19th- and 20th-century residential decor and also of the intriguing lives the Frick family. There is also a huge digital database of the complete collection for you to peruse in the brand new visitor’s center, and new programs at the museum on weekends, like wine tastings in the property grounds and gardens.
