Carnegie Museum of Art
Some of Pittsburgh’s greatest assets are its museums and cultural institutions. Of them, the Carnegie Museum of Art is one of the finest. It’s a vast collection of over 30,000 works of art, architecture, photography, and design ranging from the 19th century to the present. Steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie founded the museum in 1895, and now it hosts the Carnegie International, a prestigious art fair that occurs every three to five years. What’s more, the curators and Pittsburgh’s creatives come together in this museum space with dinners, weekend yoga, brunch events, and dance parties, like local DJ Arron Clark’s Hot Mass party, every third Thursday.
