Just browsing the menus at Tako will tell you that its chefs take Mexican food to another level. There is a build-your-own-guacamole menu, from which you can select a bevy of ingredients from mango and corn to blue cheese and crabmeat to be muddled in with your avocado dip. The bigeye tuna poke bowls are sensational, as is their queso fundido served with warmed tortillas. Wash it all down with a spicy cucumber margarita or a shot from the immense tequila selection—there are 250 to choose from, and 100 mezcals, too. The two-floor space is small and decorated with nautical paintings and candles with religious icons, and loud indie rock music plays through the night.
