Primanti's is home to the Pittsburgh-born sandwich you've probably heard of—yes, the one with the french fries and crunchy cole slaw piled right on top of it. In the early 1930s, founder Joe Primanti opened a cart in Pittsburgh's Strip District—where the first location would soon be—to feed the hungry truckers passing through at all times of the night. If you find yourself in need of a late-night gut-buster, that location is still open 24/7 today. You can also find Primanti's at each of Pittsburgh's professional stadiums if you're catching a game. This may go without saying, but make sure to get lots of napkins.
