Meat & Potatoes
This gastropub in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District serves simple, tasty lunches, brunches, and dinners that are as straightforward as the establishment’s namesake. Catfish tacos, pimento cheese burgers, mussel pots, short rib flatbreads—all of the items on this menu are quick comfort foods made with seasonal, local ingredients. The bar is stocked with dozens of great American IPAs and amber or pale ale lagers, and the bartenders serve up excellent cocktails, like the restaurant’s signature two-month barrel-aged Manhattans. In fact, the bar takes up most of the restaurant and is usually packed with people dashing in and out after work or en route to a nearby concert or theater show. The atmosphere is convivial; the service fast and sweet; and there typically isn’t a long wait for a table or a seat at the bar.
