The Urban Tap
The Urban Tap is a relative newcomer to East Carson Street—the strip of bars in Pittsburgh's South Side that's almost solely responsible for the city's notably high bar-per-capita count. Walking in the door, you're greeted by a giant, occasionally functioning beer tap and industrial design that somehow manages to still feel welcoming. The beer list is well-curated with domestics, craft brews, and a selection of IPAs. The bar also serves craft cocktails like the Saaside (Pittsburghese for South Side) Fizz which blends Death Door Gin with creme de violet, pressed lime and lemon, egg white, heavy cream, and lavender bitters. If you're hungry, the menu does an excellent job of turning up the gourmet notch on traditional American bar food.
