9 Doyers St., New York, NY 10038, United States

Inspired by the apothecaries and absinthe bars of 19th-century Europe, Chinatown’s Apothéke serves “prescription” cocktails crafted by mixologists in white lab coats. Beneath a pressed tin ceiling painted with gold leaf, the interior is designed with plush banquettes, aromatic lamps filled with oil and herbs, and a 30-foot Carrara marble bar backed by hundreds of antique medicine bottles. Drinks are made with local, organic produce and herbs, and the menu is divided into such categories as stress relievers, painkillers, health and beauty, and aphrodisiacs. Try the Deal Closer, a mixture of cucumber, vodka, local aphrodisiacs, mint, lime, and vanilla.
