A must-do for couples, mother-daughter duos, or friends, Aire Ancient Baths is one of the most luxurious ways to unwind in the city. This two-story bathhouse—which occupies a Tribeca landmark building (it was once a textile factory, and dates back to 1883) takes relaxation to a whole new level. Upon arrival, you’ll be offered tea or fruit-infused water, then led back to the immaculate dressing rooms where you’ll be given slippers, a bathrobe, and towel. Aire has five baths of different temperatures (including the “flotarium,” which has the density of the Dead Sea and is filled with salt water) as well as a steam room and heated marble slab for unwinding. For a base price of $77 on weekdays and $87 on weekends, visitors get 90 minutes of bath time. The real standout here is the Red Wine Experience—a ritual where you bathe in (and drink) antioxidant-rich wine in a private room, followed by an hour-long massage.
