1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge
This section of Brooklyn has long been starved for a hotel befitting the neighborhood's new cool. But it was worth the wait: 1 Hotel has nailed the borough's sensibility and offers a great location to boot. The property is surprisingly peaceful for an urban hotel, in no small part because it abuts Brooklyn Bridge Park, the waterfront green space that's gotten a complete makeover in recent years. Rooms are spacious, with organic elements like moss gardens and live plants that take the edge off city living. And since every room has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the East River, there's no such thing as a bad view: If you don't get a prime look at the Brooklyn Bridge, you'll get to gaze out on the Statue of Liberty or the skyline of downtown Manhattan instead.
