Features
Great value, Free, Popular with locals, Family-friendly

With an area of around 1,300 acres, City Park is one of the ten largest parks in the United States. There is an incredible array of features to explore, both natural—including the scenic displays of the serene Botanical Gardens—and man made, the New Orleans Museum of Art being the largest example in this category. The park suffered some damage during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but it has been lovingly restored, and the eight miles of open lagoon are a joy for both fishing or boating. Children will love the historic carousels at Storyland, and adults can wander among high art in the free Besthoff Sculpture Garden.
