The former New Orleans Custom House now houses the largest free standing insectarium in the country, with a huge array of space for exploring bugs and creepy crawlies. You can start off majestically with the Butterfly Garden, before getting up close and personal with some local and international examples of the insect world. Resident experts can talk you through the Insects of New Orleans, the Louisiana Swamp, and even the Cooking Show, which gives the bravest visitors a chance to chow down on some insect delicacies. Racing roaches and HD movies complete a fascinating look at the insect world.
