Compère Lapin
Hotel restaurants in the Warehouse District haven't traditionally been held in high esteem, but Chef Nina Compton's venture in the Old 77 Hotel and Chandlery is changing that. Surprisingly, the main influence isn't French but traditional Caribbean, with spiced pigs' ears and curried goat making unusual (for New Orleans) dinner options. The place feels intimate with dark woods and exposed brickwork and it's a cozy time, with guests lingering over the exceptional cocktail menu at the bar and sitting down to a seafood-heavy menu that goes beyond the NOLA ordinary.
