Attracting the youth to the relatively grown-up Central Business District is a tall order, but this more affordable version of the W brand is doing a good job right out of the blocks. It's aimed at the Instagram generation, with a fast-food cafeteria in the lobby, snappy-named public areas with pool tables and neon bars, and just enough trendy design to balance desirability and affordability. The amenities are millennial-friendly if not expansive, and the gym and rooftop pool will appeal to the tech-driven youngsters spending long weekends here. The French Quarter is just a few minutes' walk away, too.
