Cure Bar in New Orleans
Kevin O'Mara
Features
Romantic, Great cocktails, Great food, Great design, Modern style

In a city that can lay serious claim to the title of "spiritual home of the cocktail," it's not surprising that there are so many bars that exemplify the craft cocktail revival. The place that took charge of the movement in New Orleans, though, was Cure—opening on a then-deserted stretch of uptown (since populated by trendy eateries) and immediately setting high standards in fresh ingredients and innovative drinks. An astonishingly diverse spirits collection gives the skilled bartenders here free rein to surprise. Sit up at the bar in this spacious converted fire station and challenge them to impress you. It's unlikely they'll fall short.
