This towering minar—which can be spotted from many places in the city—was commissioned to issue the azan (call to prayer) and tells a beautiful tale of the invincibility of the Mughal rulers who started building it in 1192. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is a symbol of standing tall and proud, through adversity, prosperity or otherwise.
