Jack Daniel's Distillery
Just 70 miles south of Nashville, one of the South's most popular attractions celebrates the heritage of an old distiller. In the second half of the 19th century, Jasper Newton Daniel would go on to create the world's most celebrated whiskey brand thanks in part to a special limestone spring on which the distillery was built. You can visit Jack Daniel's and take a free walking tour—or opt to pay $10 for tastings—but be sure and allot enough time to poke around the old-timey Lynchburg square and have a family-style meal at Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House, which is still owned by Daniel's kin.
