Chauhan Ale & Masala House
Food Network star Maneet Chauhan has made Nashville her own with an elevated Indian concept, Chauhan Ale & Masala House, and a newly opened brewery, Mantra Artisan Ales, down south in Franklin. Chauhan, a native of India's Punjab province, fuses her culture's culinary traditions with those of her adopted hometown to create a menu rife with thoughtfully multicultural dishes, like the Chicken Pakora Po Boy wrap and garam masala pork belly BLT offered at lunchtime. Dinner features a mixture of kebabs, appetizers like Tandoori Chicken Poutine, and make-your-own Desi fare, though first-timers are recommended to go whole hog and indulge in the Meat and Three, a combination of some of the chef's favorites. Chauhan also serves brunch on Sundays, and the drinks on its Hangover Cures cocktail list—such as a vindaloo-infused bloody mary—are often just what the doctor ordered.
