This cluster of buildings on the way to Cisco Beach is home base to Nantucket's local brewery and spirits producers. It's easy to get there, with complimentary shuttles that pick people up at Nantucket's visitor center in town. Cisco Brewers was the U.S.'s first outdoor brewery when it opened in 1995. An array of beers is brewed here, ranging from the summery Whale's Tale Pale Ale (served in pretty much every bar on the island) to the deep, rich Russian Imperial Stout.
The adjacent Triple Eight Distillery turns out five different vodka varieties, as well as whiskey, rum, and the well-named Gale Force Gin. And Nantucket Vineyard, the oldest of the three operations (it opened in 1981), produces small-batch Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Pinot varietals, as well as port. Each building has its own tasting room, but it's best to grab an outdoor table in the biergarten-style courtyard; if you bring a group, you can happily spend a sunny afternoon sampling.
