Tortatelier opened in 2013 by two friends, Albertina and Nina, who changed careers to focus on their passion: exquisite made-to-order cakes and small sweets "pret-a-manger." Top quality ingredients are chosen with care—think butter from Normandy, organic lemons and eggs—and prepared in the laboratory behind the counter. Biscotti, seasonal sweets, and the ubiquitous cupcakes are all delicious, but the cakes are the true stars. They taste as good as they look, which is saying a lot, given the friends' background in PR and design. Delivery service and courses for adults or children are available.
