SLS South Beach
Nightlife mogul Sam Nazarian and design legend Philippe Starck—the duo behind SLS's sleek Beverly Hills flagship—brought new life to this 1939 Art Deco landmark with the opening of the SLS South Beach in 2012. The cabana-lined pool has become a playground for visitors and locals alike; inside, chef José Andrés's The Bazaar restaurant is a foodie haven with a menu that's as whimsical as Starck's design details. Guest rooms have a gauzy white palette with Louis XV–inspired flourishes (pink-and-gray trompe l'oeil drapery and carpets inspired by French tapestries) plus some naughty touches (think mirrors on the ceiling). The penthouse, with its masculine leather sofas and wraparound terrace, was designed by Lenny Kravitz. Back outside, Hyde Beach is a laid-back, surf-shack-inspired lounge featuring bottle service and guest DJs.
