One of the stalwarts of Fitzroy's ever-evolving food scene, Andrew McConnell's Cutler & Co continues to lead the way for modern Australian cuisine. This is fine dining, but there's a lightness to the service and a buzz in the room that ensure nothing ever feels overly serious. Except for what's on the plate, which are the best ingredients cooked with flair. The menu changes according to season, but could include flounder with brown butter and pickled onions or braised short ribs with smoked oyster and pepper sauce. The weekly, ever-changing four-course Sunday lunch is a great value and a brilliant way to pass an afternoon.
