Paul Smith No. 9
A large golden “9” boldly marks the glass doors at this Paul Smith shop in the Mayfair neighborhood of West London. Inside, the store has an eclectic museum-like quality evoked by a wide range of furniture, framed paintings and objets d’art gleaned from across the globe by Smith himself. The wares are arranged in quirky displays which may feature antique buttons strewn across a glass-top table with a base resembling an enormous white playing jack. The inventory includes original, untouched pieces as well as objects updated with idiosyncratic touches reflecting Paul Smith’s trademark use of color and pattern.
